The University of Greenwich is hosting the event at the Command House pub in Chatham from Monday 20 to Wednesday 22 May.

The first night sees Dr Claudia Carvalho discuss the importance of crop storage, using a case study of the great British potato. Dr Lorraine Fisher also looks at the challenges of food packaging for fresh produce.

Tuesday's event sees Dr John J Milledge look at the role seaweed could have on a sustainable future for food, fuel and pharmaceuticals. Colin Hills will also discuss his pioneering work on the manufacture of construction materials which divert carbon from the atmosphere.
