Vital subjects taught at the University of Greenwich have been ranked in the world's top 400.

In today's Times Higher Education World University Rankings, Greenwich is in the top 301-400 for Business & Economics, as well as Education. The university ranks in the top 401-500 for Social Sciences.

Professor David Maguire, Vice-Chancellor, says: "These results are further good news for the university, building on several league table rises this year. Business and Economics rising to the top 400, where it joins Education, is a huge achievement, and it is also encouraging to see Social Science maintaining its position in the top 500 places.

"These results are testament to the great work that goes on every day at this university. As ever we will strive to improve further and give our students the best chance to excel in their chosen fields."

Rankings are based on 13 performance indicators grouped into the areas of teaching, research, international outlook, research influence and industry income.

Social Sciences looks at sociology, geography, politics and international studies, as week as communication and media studies subjects.

Business and Economics looks at business and management, accounting and finance, and economics and econometrics subjects.

Education looks at education, teacher training and academic studies in education subjects.

The university has international students from 168 countries, and there are 17,450 students studying overseas and over 20,000 learning in the UK.
