Changes to how we record attendance this term

Following the move to online teaching activities due to the coronavirus pandemic, we have made some important changes to how we monitor and record student attendance.

These changes can be found in the Student Attendance Monitoring Policy and Procedure: Addendum (April 2020).

They apply to:

  • taught students (at undergraduate and postgraduate level) whose teaching activities have been moved online who would have otherwise had timetabled classes to attend – so for the remainder of this academic year this only applies to students who have scheduled teaching time in term three.
  • students on placement

Clarification is also provided for research students who are proceeding with their research remotely.

If you do have scheduled teaching time in term three and are finding it difficult or are unable to engage with online content, please contact your faculty Retention and Success Officer, who will ensure that appropriate support is put in place for you.
