TLDRoffon

All students and staff are welcome to attend the private viewing of our current exhibition on 18 September from 6 - 9pm.

More than half of the world's population now lives in cities and artists have long represented city life in their work, from the painters of Dutch street scenes and interiors, to twentieth-century British artists such as Bomberg and Sickert.

This exhibition, curated by Trevor Burgess, brings together the work of nine established painters responding to the urban environment. This exhibition comes to the Stephen Lawrence Gallery from East Gallery,Norwich University of the Arts  and features imagery of cities in the UK, France, Canada, the USA, Bangladesh, Myanmar, and India.

The artists featuring in this exhibition are:

Trevor Burgess, Stephen Carter, Mark Crofton Bell, Marguerite Horner, Barbara Howey, Matthew Krishanu, Lee Maelzer, Jock McFadyen, and Tanmoy Samanta.

For more details about the exhibition, which runs until 24 October and the gallery opening times please see the University of Greenwich Galleries website.

The private viewing, which all students and staff are welcome takes place on Tuesday 18 September, 6-9pm and we look forward to seeing you there.
