My Life My Say is led by former University of Greenwich student, Mete Coban MBE

My Life My Say (MLMS) is a youth-led, non-partisan organisation on a mission to empower young people to participate in democracy by creating spaces for dialogue across communities and generations. My Life My Say also provides young and socially excluded citizens with the tools to lead change within society through our Young Leaders programme.MyLifeMySay

With the support of his lecturer Dr Cécile Laval, now board member of MLMS and Head of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at the university, Mete has achieved so much in his career such as becoming councillor for Hackney, being awarded an MBE for his work, and now celebrating 10 years of MLMS.

Dr Cécile Laval, Coban's former lecturer and now board member for MLMS, said:

“10 years ago, MyLifeMySay was created by Cllr Mete Coban MBE. It was great to celebrate its 10th anniversary at the University of Greenwich where it all began. We marked this milestone by signing a partnership agreement between the University of Greenwich and My Life My Say.”

The Partnership will greatly benefit Greenwich students. They will be able to take part in the Squad Leadership Programme, Democracy Cafés, and MLMS Next General Conference. The mutually beneficial partnership also includes opportunities to engage in linked research and knowledge exchange activities.
