National Student Money week, 6-10 February 2017 Articles

The Finance Team have teamed up with the National Association of Student Money Advisers to bring you this year's National Student Money Week (NSMW) with a primary focus on saving money.

Waste not, Want not!

This year's Money Week is all about selling, sharing and donating! It also promotes sustainability, which at the University, we take great pride in.

We want to encourage students to consider their future purchases, recycle the stuff they already have, share, swap and team up with other students to save money.

Come and see us to:

  • Take part in our competition to win a hamper of donated goodies
  • Complete a Financial Health Check
  • Talk about your finances
  • Swap your unwanted Christmas presents
  • Donate your unwanted clean coats, scarves, gloves, jumpers, blankets. This will be used for fellow students who find themselves far from home without warm clothing and any that is unwanted will be passed on to local charities who collect for the poor or homeless who are suffering during the colder months.

About National Student Money Week

National Student Money Week was introduced by the National Association of Student Money Advisers (NASMA) as a national event coordinating universities and relevant organisations such as Student Finance England to emphasise the importance of financial awareness to students. It is intended to inform students of all types of finance and money related matters including the effects that financial issues can have on your study performance.
