Need to talk? Drop in and have a chat

University life can be exciting, but it can also be stressful, overwhelming and, at times, a bit lonely. Whatever's going on, you don't have to manage it alone.

Maybe you're feeling anxious, struggling to focus on your studies, dealing with a difficult situation at home, finding it hard to settle in, or just feeling like things are getting on top of you. Whatever's going on, you don't have to manage it alone.

Our Student Psychological Wellbeing Service runs free online drop-in sessions throughout the week, giving you direct access to a member of the Student Wellbeing team. No appointment or referral is needed.

What happens at a drop-in?

You'll have a confidential one-to-one conversation with a member of the Student Wellbeing team.

It's a chance to talk things through, ask questions, get advice, and find out what support might be available. You don't need to be in crisis or have a diagnosed mental health condition to attend.

Some students come along with a specific concern. Others just know that something doesn't feel quite right and would like to speak to someone impartial.

We can help with:

  • Stress and anxiety
  • Low mood
  • Academic pressures
  • Settling into university life
  • Feeling overwhelmed
  • Accessing support and services
  • General wellbeing concerns

The aim is to help you access support early and explore practical next steps before difficulties begin to have a bigger impact on your wellbeing or studies.

How does it work?

  • Join from anywhere using Microsoft Teams.
  • No booking required.
  • Speak directly with a member of the Student Wellbeing team.
