Many of our 150 new Student Ambassadors turned out in force for the university’s November Open Day. Despite the horrible weather, they had an amazing time.

Here's what they had to say about their day.

Laura is a 1st year Psychology student and working on the Open Day was her first role as ambassador.  This is what she said:

To be honest, I felt a bit nervous but once it was explained what responsibilities I had, it gave me the confidence to be proactive. I had the chance to connect with the visitors and share my experiences. The whole experience at the Open Day gave me a sense of pride.

My favourite part of the day was welcoming visitors at the gatehouse. The wonderful part was visitors were enthusiastic, it was amazing. It was an unforgettable experience.

Nikolay also had a fantastic day and learnt a lot about the other ambassadors: "I had an amazing day. Working with my peers was great, I could definitely feel the sense of togetherness. Everyone was in a great mood with an energetic vibe, it was an awesome day."

Soingna enjoyed her experience at Open Day: "It was my first shift and it was a great to meet all the staff and helping the visitors felt amazing. It was also great to have the support of a friendly and enthusiastic team."

Finally, Alice summed up the feelings of a lot of the Student Ambassadors:

I made friends on the day and really saw how great the scheme is for meeting people. Everyone was so friendly, despite meeting them for the first time, it felt like I have known them for ages.
