Power-Up for Uni is designed to give students the skills they need to succeed at university, while also giving them the opportunity to meet and network with other students. Teams from across the university have come together to provide a one-stop-shop displaying all the support available in one place.
On 8th September, students can attend on our Avery Hill campus or online and lunch will be provided for those attending in person. The day will include information on these topics.
Welcome to Greenwich Students’ Union
Representing the student voice to the university at all levels, Greenwich Students’ Union (GSU) offers a number of support services to students and runs numerous campaigns, activities, events and venues. They represent students’ academic interests to the University of Greenwich to ensure they get the best quality and inclusive education. Check out the Greenwich Students’ Union website to find out more.
Your Wellbeing at University
Our Student Wellbeing Service is there for all our students, including disabled students, students with specific learning difficulties, mental health conditions and long-term medical conditions. At this session students will find out about the range of support services on offer during their time at the University of Greenwich.
Skills for University
Students can find out about the Academic Support Team and the support available to help them get started with their studies this academic year. Support includes Skills for University where they can LevelUp their academic skills, get started with Microsoft Teams and develop their digital learning, all of which they can work through at any time, at their own pace.
Settling into University
When coming to a new place or returning after a break in their studies, students may have concerns about fitting in, understanding new ideas and course work, and wondering whether everyone else knows more than they do. This session will help them find their way around our campuses and share their experiences with other students in the same situation.
Lightning Talks from IT, Student Engagement and Library Services
The IT Service Desk supports students throughout their time at university. They are always the first point of contact for all things IT related such as university email, WIFI and software. IT Support can be found in all of our campus libraries and the IT Service Desk support page provides further information and contact details for them.
The Student Engagement Team are here to make sure students get the best start to university. They are on hand to answer all of their questions about registration, welcome and beyond. They run different events and schemes such as our peer mentoring scheme connecting students to help them develop a support network and sense of belonging.
The university libraries are filled with so much more than books. They are great places to work alone or collaborate with others. The Library Services team will introduce students to all our library facilities and services available on all 3 of our campuses.
