The strength and conditioning labs at the University of Greenwich has a new suite of equipment.

The facilities are used for a mix of teaching and research, allowing academics and students the chance to refine programmes to ensure maximum efficiency.

Dr Fernando Naclerio is the university’s Programme Leader for MSc Strength and Conditioning.

He said: “The new lab is equipped with the most updated technology for strength and conditioning training.

“We also have access to the most revolutionary technology to measure human performance and conduct high-quality research in physically active people, including athletes, patients involved in rehabilitation programmes, children, and young people. For instance, we can conduct follow up retraining programmes for people who are recovering from injury, including athletes.

“Our facilities allow students to take active part in real-word research in a professional setting during their undergraduate and postgraduate programmes (such as MSc and PhD).

This new laboratory will be integrated within the new Centre of Exercise Activity & Rehabilitation within the Institute of Lifecourse Development, Faculty of Education and Health, Human Sciences.

Covid limitations mean a maximum of 20 people can be in the lab at the same time. Post-vaccine this would be about 30 people.
