Virtual meetings: Which application?

TLDRoffon

ILS have published updated information to provide clarification on how to hold video meetings with staff and students.

Recently ILS updated our remote access and virtual meeting guidance, to provide clarification on how to hold video meetings with staff and students. In addition, academic staff should consider using Moodle to communicate with students on items relating to their module.

Please note: Prior to the implementation of Teams across the university, some colleagues were granted access to Zoom on a trial basis. The IT Service Desk are currently receiving a large number of requests for Zoom licences. We have reviewed a number of use cases submitted with these requests, and so far all have been fulfilled using the approved software outlined on the virtual meeting page, therefore these requests have been rejected.

Given the amount of interest in virtual meetings at the moment, we are reviewing and adding to the guidance on a daily basis. Please continue to check the page for updated information.
