We've retained our 1st Class Award and rank 19th out of 154 universities and colleges in the UK. We're 3rd among London universities, and it's all thanks to you!

Compiled annually by the student network, People & Planet, the University (Green) League ranks universities by environmental and ethical performance and assesses a range of factors including management practices as well as performance in carbon, waste, water and energy reduction.

All of your actions helped us retain our 1st Class Award - thank you.

Almost every decision and action we take has a sustainability implication so the more we understand and respond to the challenges we face, the better.

Simon Goldsmith, the univiersity's Head of Sustainability, said:

"The University League provides a useful annual sustainability performance health check to see how we are performing amongst other universities. Our continued success is worth celebrating. It reflects the commitment, hard work and action that our staff and students do every day and we thank them for this.  We would love to improve further and to do this we ask everyone to do more.

For example, recycle (without contaminating) as much as possible, save energy by switching off lights or chargers and contact us with suggestions on how we can make improvements that will help us meet our carbon, waste and water reduction targets.

Whatever you do, aim to reduce your impacts or where appropriate integrate sustainability in your learning, teaching and research. As we only have one planet we need to protect it for our own future success, ensuring we meet human needs that enables a sustainable economy to thrive."
