Your portal feedback Articles

You've told us you like the new, more intuitive and modern design, with some of you going out of your way to tell us you're finding the content you're looking for more easily than you ever did before.

You've told us the design is "less cluttered" and better for looking more like the website; you think the login page is great too. You like the quick links bar at the top of every page and you've passed on your thanks for the work that went into delivering the new portal.

You've also told us about things that weren't quite right too, and Information & Library Services have already made changes to respond to these:

  • The logout time has been increased to 1 hour, which ILS hopes will make it more workable. The automatic logout in effect, undertakes real-time housekeeping on the portal infrastructure and ensures it's optimised for us to use.  And you're no longer prompted to login twice once you've been logged out.
  • The contrast has been improved to make the content easier to read for everyone, and less like "looking at a nuclear explosion" as someone described it.
  • Buildings and room numbers have been added into the search results so it's easier to find out where people are based.

We think this is a great start, but we know there's always more to do and ILS will continue to develop our portal to help deliver a tool that supports each of us every day.
