Banking student. Communicator. Lover of numbers.

TLDRoffon

Anna was looking for a new challenge in a student-friendly setting. Now she’s a Greenwich student, she’s gaining valuable industry connections too.

Anna Burevschi grew up in Romania but moved to Moldova to take a course in tourism and hotel management. She soon realised that the subject wasn't for her ("I found that I'd rather be in the tourist's shoes than in the tourism agent's!") and began looking for a change of direction.

Finance and investment banking at the University of Greenwich was Anna's chance to study a well-regarded programme on a beautiful campus. She also wanted to enjoy the benefits of living in one of the world's major capital cities: "London is a beautiful and vibrant place. I knew it would perfectly suit my student lifestyle."

Anna's finance degree has enabled her to indulge her love of numbers. Plus, by throwing herself into assignments and presentations, she's also boosted her team-working, communication and writing skills.

Networking is a big part of Anna's life. As well as keeping in contact with friends on Facebook and Instagram, she attends Greenwich Open Days as a student ambassador, meeting with potential students to promote the benefits of higher education.

As events organiser for the university's Banking & Finance Society, she gets in touch with industry professionals, persuading them to give talks and share their experiences with her fellow students.

Once she's completed her degree, Anna wants to go into the banking industry. Her dream is to be a successful investment banker in a leading company.
