Student support

TLDRoffon

It's a big step up to university and many students find it challenging at first to study independently.

At the University of Greenwich, we give you all the support you need to make that all-important transition easier.

Inspiring teaching

We take an innovative and modern approach to teaching and we are totally committed to making sure you achieve your potential. The quality of teaching at the University of Greenwich consistently scores highly in the National Student Survey. This is because courses are intellectually stimulating and staff are enthusiastic about their subjects, as well as being good at explaining things.

"The best thing about the University of Greenwich is the relationship with lecturers and the support they give. It was 100% important to my development. I didn't just get an education, I found clarity of purpose."

Mete Coban, Political Science and Government graduate

Personal tutors

Studying at university is about much more than coping with academic demands. This is where personal tutors come in to make all the difference to your experience and success at university. The University of Greenwich has a longstanding commitment to personal tutoring. We recognise the crucial role it plays in student retention and achievement.

Every student has a designated personal tutor who is there to make your life easier. You'll have regular group and individual meetings with your tutor who will help you get the most out of your time at university.

English language support

If English is not your first language and you want to improve your English language skills, we offer a pre-sessional English language course before you start your degree. These courses are perfect for international students who have accepted a university place.

Foundation year

If you're nervous about higher education, don't worry. We've designed the four-year extended degrees to give you the best start to university. The courses are identical to the three year degree, and include a foundation year. It's the perfect way to bring you up to speed and maximise your ability to perform on a degree course. You can start your extended degree with 64 UCAS points or more; so it can also be a great opportunity for anyone who makes a subject area change or doesn't quite get the grades come results day.
