Start University in January

January intake at universities provides prospective students with the option to begin their studies away from the September cohort. This grants many students flexibility and the time required to explore your options and make a fully informed decision. Starting university in January caters to those who may have missed the earlier deadlines, want to change course, need additional time to prepare or simply don’t want to wait another academic year to enrol. The course you will be enrolling in will be the same as the September cohort and you’ll study the same content, meaning that it doesn’t matter which entry month you decide on, you’ll have the same experience. January intake is a particularly desirable option for international students, as it provides you with more time to get things in order before starting university. Greenwich offers a wide variety of different courses for you to start in January.

Because Greenwich offers the same course to the September intake of students as the January intake, the application process is very similar. January intake refers to the opportunity to start a course in January rather than the more traditional September. Greenwich is one of the few universities in the UK to offer this. Not all courses are available for a January intake however we do offer a wide variety of subjects and disciplines.

If you wish to take a break and therefore miss the September intake, starting in January means you’re not waiting around to start in the new academic year. The experience will differ only slightly as the courses offered are the same, and the January intake helps many students get their affairs in order before moving to a new city.
