Raluca Marinciu
Senior Teaching Fellow and Deputy Programme Leader
Originally from Sibiu, a historic city in Romania, Raluca Mariniciu brings an international perspective and a student-centred approach to her role as Senior Teaching Fellow and Deputy Programme Leader for the BA Business Management programme at the University of Greenwich. As one of the first Generation Z academics in the School of Business, she combines contemporary teaching methods with a commitment to ensuring education remains relevant, engaging, and inclusive.
Raluca’s academic journey has been shaped by her own experiences as a student overcoming challenges, which have given her a strong sense of empathy and a practical approach to helping others balance study, work, and personal commitments. She is passionate about embedding employer engagement into the curriculum, ensuring students have opportunities to connect with professionals from leading organisations such as HP, Amazon, and GSK.
Before joining academia, Raluca served as Head of Employer Engagement, building strong and lasting partnerships between the University and industry. She now combines her teaching and programme leadership responsibilities with research, contributing to British Academy-funded projects and publishing in the field of pedagogy. She is also an active member of the University’s Women’s Network, the BAME Awarding Gap group, and other initiatives that champion inclusion and equity across the institution.
Responsibilities within the university
As Senior Teaching Fellow and Deputy Programme Leader, Raluca supports the academic leadership and development of the BA Business Management programme, ensuring the highest standards of teaching and student experience. She leads large modules such as Managing Organisations and Individuals (BUSI1628) and Management Practices (1106), achieving consistently high satisfaction scores. Raluca works closely with industry partners to design and deliver employability-focused events, guest lectures, and placements that prepare students for the workplace. Alongside her teaching and leadership, she contributes to research projects, publishes academic work, and plays an active role in University-wide initiatives aimed at fostering an inclusive and supportive learning community.
