Jiang Harmony
Lecturer in Psychology and PhD Researcher
Harmony Jiang is a Lecturer in Psychology and PhD researcher at University of Greenwich, starting her PhD in 2023 and as a Lecturer at the university since 2026. She is also a research assistant for Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
She completed her MSc in Dementia at UCL, after which she worked as a Research Assistant for the NHS, working on a range of mental health studies using mixed-methods approaches. During her PhD she was a Postgraduate Research Teaching Assistant, marking and leading seminars for Undergraduate Psychology students.
Harmony’s PhD explored how nature (i.e. the natural world around us) could improve the wellbeing of people living with mild cognitive impairment or dementia, by developing, evaluating and exploring implementation of a caregiver-led nature-based intervention for people living with mild cognitive impairment or dementia, and caregivers.

Research / Scholarly interests
Harmony’s research interests include dementia, intervention development, nature and mental health. She is particularly interested in the robust and stakeholder-led development of novel psychosocial interventions to improve wellbeing, particularly for people living with dementia or cognitive impairment, and informal caregivers. Harmony also seeks to understand the psychological mechanisms behind emotional experiences when contemplating or encountering nature. Her expertise is in mixed-methods research and collaborations with various sectors, including the NHS, local authority, care homes and charities.
