Senior Lecturer

Dr Alohan Omoregie currently works in the School of Engineering and the Built Environment University of Greenwich as a Senior Lecturer. Alohan is a Chartered Engineer and has over two decades of practice experience, encompassing academic and professional practices. His experience spans Europe, Asia (Middle East), and Africa (Sub-Saharan Africa). He obtained his PhD in 2006 from De Montfort University.

Alohan’s research interests are in sustainable development, specifically:

  1. sustainable infrastructure provision
  2. sustainable building materials
  3. clean water and sanitation
  4. sustainable cities and communities and the developing world-built environment

Alohan has taught at postgraduate and undergraduate levels, with modules covering structural engineering (mechanics of materials, structural planning, analysis, and design), civil engineering (hydraulics and fluid mechanics, urban drainage), and construction (management, material and technology). Alohan has also taught engineering mathematics, computer aided design (CAD): AutoCAD (2D & 3D) and Autodesk Inventor.

Alohan has worked as an engineering consultant in the United Kingdom and Nigeria as part of his professional practice. He has served in the following academic capacities: Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Course Leader and Program Leader. He has authored several published works in reputable academic journals and conferences. Alohan Omoregie is the author of “Blueprints for Infrastructure and Service Delivery in Sub-Saharan Africa”.
