Key details

Dr Olusegun Olowookere

Lecturer in Electrical and Electronic Engineering

Dr Olusegun Olowookere is a Lecturer in Electrical Power Engineering at the University of Greenwich, where he completed his PhD in Grid Connection of Combined Offshore Wind and Wave Farms. His research interest involves the Smart Grid Integration of renewable energy systems and distributed generation resources to enhance economies of scale in the power generation systems in the UK.

His core areas of expertise include Power Engineering, Power Systems Analysis, Control and Instrumentation, Smart Grids implementation, Power Electronic Converters, Electrical Energy Utilization and Installation Services, and Electrical Machines and Drives.

He worked as a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Research Associate with the University of Greenwich where he completed research into higher levels of power savings in the use of Power Factor Correction products at Advanced Power Components PLC Rochester England.

He worked as a Line Support Engineer with Texcel Technology PLC, Crayford England, where he was responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Finesse Pick and Place machine. The machine was maintained at an efficiency of 87% for the smooth production of surface mount boards. He was also in charge of the regular maintenance and repairs of the Automatic Optical Inspection machine, Finesse, EP 600, EP 400, and Reflow Ovens.

Dr Olusegun Olowookere worked with Paterson Zochonis PLC Aba, Nigeria for 6 years before he migrated to the United Kingdom in 2007. While at Paterson Zochonis PLC, he worked as Production Manager, Finishing Maintenance Manager, Electrical Workshop Manager, Process Electrical Manager and Trainee Manager.
