Research / Scholarly interests
Marco’s research interests lie at the intersection between sociology and social policy, and critically engage with the relationship between migration, masculinities and race in the Mediterranean. Currently, Marco is working on two interconnected streams of research: the social embodiment of structural vulnerabilities in forced migration contexts and the racialising mechanisms reproduced by hostile immigration policies in Italy. From a methodological point of view, Marco is interested in the role of reflexivity and narratives in qualitative research.
