Why I chose Greenwich

I knew I wanted more than just theory. I was looking for a course that would challenge me, excite me, and prepare me with practical knowledge I could use straight away. Greenwich stood out because of its strong industry links, focus on real-world projects, and the warmth I felt from the moment I attended the open day.

It wasn’t just the facilities or the location, though both are amazing. It was the sense of belonging. Coming from India, moving so far from home was daunting, but the diverse and inclusive community at Greenwich made all the difference.

Here I’ve met people from all over the world, gained new perspectives, and grown in ways I never expected. The friendships I’ve built have supported me personally and professionally.

A day in my life as a Digital Marketing student

No two days are the same. Some mornings are spent diving into digital strategy or consumer behaviour, followed by tutorials where we debate ideas, work on case studies, and bring theory to life. Other days are packed with workshops, team projects, or guest lectures from people working in the industry.

Those tutorials are one of my favourite parts of the course. They are interactive, collaborative, and always leave me thinking differently.

When classes finish, I often head to the stunning library, grab a coffee with classmates, or brainstorm ideas for projects. The campus is always buzzing with events, guest speakers and opportunities to get involved. At the end of a hectic day, walking by the Greenwich Pier is such a refreshing way to reset and reflect.

Beyond the classroom

One of the things I value most is the chance to apply what we’re learning to real-world situations. I’ve attended marketing events where I got to network with professionals, and I’m currently working with a charity on my final consultancy project, supporting their digital marketing strategy.

That hands-on experience has been incredibly rewarding. It has given me a chance to put skills into practice, see the impact of my work, and feel confident about stepping into the industry.

Looking ahead

My goal is to work in brand strategy and digital marketing, ideally in a creative agency where I can collaborate with a wide range of brands. This course is preparing me for that path not just with academic content, but by helping me think critically, communicate clearly, and adapt to the ever-changing marketing landscape.

The support from tutors has been a huge part of that. Learning industry tools like Tableau and Google Analytics has given me confidence in my technical skills, while guidance from lecturers has encouraged me to push further and believe in my own potential.

Looking back, choosing Greenwich was one of the best decisions of my life. It’s not only about earning a degree. It’s about discovering who I am, finding what drives me, and having the support to grow along the way.

And if that’s what you’re searching for, I’d say you’re in the right place.
