Hello and a warm welcome to our Staff Wellbeing Network!
We are a social community whose aim is to improve staff wellbeing through positive activities, signposting, and open conversations about mental health. Our Staff Wellbeing Network is inclusive and open to all staff members to join.
About our Network
As part of our whole university approach to health and wellbeing, the University of Greenwich has a number of interventions and initiatives to support employees and develop a culture of wellbeing. One such initiative is our Staff Wellbeing Network. Members come from a wide range of departments and roles across the University. They have different personal and professional experiences and backgrounds with respect to wellbeing.
Our Aims
Our network aims to promote, support, and embed a healthy culture at the University of Greenwich by:
- Bringing staff together who have a shared interest in health and wellbeing
- Creating a safe space for discussion of issues around health and wellbeing
- Helping to raise awareness of mental and physical wellbeing issues through signposting and sharing information, resources and activities
- Offering a collective voice that can help to shape, implement and evaluate policies in relation to health and wellbeing
Join our Network
Joining our network will give you a fantastic opportunity to connect and collaborate with other members across the institution who share an interest in health and wellbeing.
Members are given time by the university to attend community meetings and events with contributions to the work of the community recognised by the university where possible.

Becoming a Wellbeing Champion
For those wanting to take a more active role in promoting and influencing positive change relating to wellbeing in the workplace, then the role of a Wellbeing Champion is for you. In addition to the expectations of a network member, champions would be expected to:
- Be a named staff member in your faculty or directorate
- Raise awareness of wellbeing in your local departments and across the wider institution, in line with the network’s shared goals and committee plans.
- Help organise and promote wellbeing activities and campaigns within your Directorate/Faculty, in line with the network’s shared goals and committee plans.
- Attend other occasional training and events related to wellbeing. Share best practices, stories, and skills, and provide feedback on what is working well and what needs more focus.
Wellbeing Champion requirements
To become a Wellbeing Champion, you are required to:
