Coming to an Open Day can be an exciting first step towards making some big decisions about your future!
Interested in one of the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences’ courses? If so, here are five top tips - crafted just for you - to ensure you make the most out of your visit to one of our Open Days at the Greenwich Campus.
- Prep before you go: Take a moment to think about what it is you really want to know. It could be anything university-wise you're curious about - perhaps you want to get the lowdown on a specific module or find out where a course might lead you after graduation; maybe you're keen to discover the ins and outs of student life or want some advice on fees and funding. Write your questions down so you don’t forget (and do take notes during your visit too)!
- Make a priority list: With so much happening during a typical Open Day, it helps to have a plan for the event. Decide what sessions you want to attend and add these to your ‘must do’ list - this might include chatting to our lecturers, catching a course talk and exploring the stunning Greenwich campus and our great facilities or getting a sneak peak at the university’s accommodation, finding out about fees and funding and, if the course you’re interested in offers one at the event, maybe even trying your hand at a 'taster session'!
- Talk to our students: Current students are a great source for first-hand insights! You’ll find student ambassadors at Open Days so do ask them about their favourite parts of university life or what a typical day looks like for them - they're always happy to chat.
- Capture the moment: Don't forget to take notes and why not take some photos too?
- Don’t worry if you miss something: Our virtual open day platform is stuffed with handy links to lots of useful information and even a virtual tour so you can always check back if you can’t quite remember something or need to find out more.
