Got a business idea you want to bring to life?
The Generator has officially launched this year’s Enterprise Challenge, the University of Greenwich’s flagship competition for aspiring entrepreneurs.
Whether you already have a business, are developing an idea, or simply want to explore whether entrepreneurship could be for you, the Enterprise Challenge gives you the opportunity to develop your idea with expert support and compete for funding to help take it further.
Previous competitions have attracted ideas from across the University, covering everything from technology and sustainability to fashion, health, social impact and creative businesses. Last year, almost 200 applications were received, with finalists going on to receive mentoring before pitching their ventures at the Grand Finals.

A packed house for the Enterprise Challenge launch
Applications officially opened at our launch event on 30 September, where students packed out the Lower Deck in Dreadnought to learn more about the competition and hear first-hand from entrepreneurs who have already completed the Enterprise Challenge journey.
Hosted by the Generator, the event introduced students to the competition, offered advice on developing and pitching an idea, and gave them the chance to hear from previous Enterprise Challenge winners. Tegan Bernard, founder of Poptails and winner of last year’s Commercial category, joined ThankGod Izime and Daniel Mbajiaku of UltraApp, winners of last year’s overall Enterprise Challenge, to share their experiences of developing their businesses and competing in the process.
Could your idea be next?
You do not need to have a fully formed business to apply. The Enterprise Challenge is designed to help you develop your thinking, strengthen your business model and build the confidence to take your idea further.
Successful applicants will have the opportunity to access mentoring and support from the Generator, develop their pitch and potentially progress through the competition towards the Grand Finals.
Previous finalists have gone on to compete for a range of awards, including the £5,000 Greenwich Entrepreneur of the Year prize.
Applications are open now and close on Sunday 22 November 2026.
