Current student Claire Kelly tells us about her experience so far studying on the Primary Education Studies (2-Year Accelerated Degree), BA Hons

“I chose the two year Primary Education BA Hons Degree as I was working as a higher learning teaching assistant.” Claire told us “My class teacher at the time recommended I continue my teaching education and so I came to Greenwich!”

Claire told us that she is finding the course very informative around children and primary education. “I have learned to adapt my thinking on criticality and analysing what I read.” Claire explained “The course has given me the confidence to be empathetic and structured as a teacher.”

We asked Claire what she hopes to gain from the course to help with her future. Claire told us that her goal is to be a class teacher in a primary school. “I would also like to become a head of department, or even work for Ofsted.” Claire revealed.

Claire was very complimentary of her lecturers. “All of them have been very supportive, friendly and approachable” Claire explained “Even during the pandemic they have been available anytime.” Claire also went onto explain that she has made lots of very good friends during her course and during the pandemic, they were all there for one another, even if it was only at the other end of the phone.

Finally, we asked Claire if she would recommend the Primary Education course. “100%!” Claire exclaimed “The course is very in depth and informative with professional, approachable lecturers. The vast amount of information I have gained has given me a different perspective on many policies and I find this very refreshing.”

We thank Claire for sharing her story and wish her all the best for the future!
