This year we broke records with over 600 mentorships, which we facilitated through our Ask Alumni+ platform. We partnered with mentors who work for local, national and international employers, including Google, Oracle, PwC, Barclays, The Royal College of Psychiatrists, ArcelorMittal and many more.
Career Mentoring Ceremony
Our Career Mentoring Ceremony took place on 14 June with nearly 200 partners, mentors, mentees and stakeholders coming together to celebrate mentoring at UoG.
We captured the entire event and filmed a Q&A with mentors and mentees to hear about their positive experiences. View the video below:
Mentor and Mentee stories
I think the programme was excellent, I believe I have helped my mentee and also have learnt from them. It's been a really great opportunity. – Ben Shepherd, PwC
I can’t thank my mentor enough for his time, effort and wealth of knowledge. He will forever be a lifelong network, mentor and friend to me - he was perfect, not only was he full of knowledge, patient and encouraging but he started off as an engineer just like me! – Orlando Miller, MSc Finance and Investment
Upon completion of this year’s programme, we were delighted to hear that the mentors and mentees found the programme worthwhile, with the majority stating they would likely recommend it to others.
For mentees, the top skills that the programme helped improve the most was their CV and Cover Letter, confidence, communication, career planning and networking skills.

We support mentors and mentees with training sessions, 1-2-1s, catch-ups and drop-in sessions for students to ensure you are getting the most out of mentoring. Alongside our partners, we hold several events throughout the mentoring programme, including exclusive workshops and networking opportunities.
