Academic Workload Planning (AWP) Training for Staff

Information regarding upcoming AWP training sessions for line managers and direct reports plus dates and times for AWP all staff drop-in sessions

The new AWP tool will enable us to plan effectively, efficiently and fairly as we work towards the goals as set out in This is our Time 2030 University Strategy. To support the rollout of the new AWP tool and the 22/23 transition year, we have put in place training sessions for staff.

Line Managers Training (and those responsible for workload allocations)

Thank you to all line managers who attended training that took place in July, provided by our system supplier, Simitive. For line managers who were unable to attend these sessions, you will be contacted directly by the AWP team to arrange training.

Direct Reports Training (academic staff who are not responsible for workload allocations)

For direct reports, we are offering system awareness training. The objective of these sessions is to:

  • Help you understand your workload allocation
  • Guide you through what you need to do to review your workload and raise queries with your line manager
  • Support you in accessing information to allow you to compare your workload to others
  • Assist you in working through the process in agreeing your workload
