Improving Avery Hill: Work has continued throughout lockdown

TLDRoffon

We’ve had to adapt to working in a pandemic following government guidelines, but our new Library and Health Science building is already changing how our campus looks.

The building was brought onto campus and assembled on campus during lockdown.  The timelapse video captures the work as it happened:

Since then work by all contractors has continued on the interior of the new building.  We'll be sharing updates and photos from the inside of the building shortly. We're already pleased with how it is transforming our Avery Hill campus, and are looking forward to welcoming the library onto Southwood site.

The work on Fry and Grey has also continued throughout lockdown, with one of the contractors starting work during this time.  We have also started work on David Fussey to create an expanded, state of the art clinical skills and simulation centre, which will provide students with the space to gain the skills and expertise to become nurses, paramedics and midwifes.  Many of our students and staff have worked, and are working, in the NHS during this pandemic, which also makes us #ProudToBeGre, so being able to continue to support our practitioners of the future is key.
