Clearing: You can help by avoiding use of these key systems on Thursday 13 and Friday 14 August

Whether you're working on campus or remotely please avoid using these key university systems from 8am to 6pm.

As you know, UCAS Clearing is a key time for recruiting students, and everyone has a part to play to ensure it is successful.  You can help by:

  • Avoiding making phone calls from your university landline and avoid calling on-campus teams.
  • Avoiding using Business Objects and HPC.
  • Avoid using Banner Self Service Pages (Student Records link on the Portal) if you are not directly involved with taking applications through Clearing.

Please avoid using these key university systems from 8am to 6pm on Thursday 13, and 10am to 3pm on Friday 14.

This will help our Clearing team, as well as making sure we can take the maximum number of calls from potential applicants during our busiest times, and it really does make a difference.

The IT Service Desk will not be contactable by phone on Thursday 13 August.

We’ll be prioritising calls related to Clearing, Welcome and new students. Please use IT self-service to get quick answers to common queries, or to report an issue or submit a support request to the team.

Please also remain vigilant to keep our systems and data safe – if you have any doubts please check with the sender or the IT Service Desk to confirm it is genuine before clicking on links or acting on requests.
