Greenwich campus is hosting a temporary Coronavirus Mobile Testing Unit

TLDRoffon

A mobile testing unit is opening on our Greenwich campus. It is located outside Dreadnought and is provided by the Department of Health and Social Care facilitated by the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

We are continuing to work closely with the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

We expect this testing unit to start to operate from Thursday 1 October, and to be in place for a week.  It is for use by student residents in local halls, following confirmation of a small number of Covid-19 cases in recent days. Student residents will have appointments booked for them and there are strict rules in place for those attending appointments.

The testing is taking place as a precautionary measure to identify individuals who may be asymptomatic or pre-symptomatic.

We are committed to support our university community

We are organising enhanced support for our students living in our Halls of Residence.  If student residents need to self-isolate then we will provide a discount for that period of time. We'll provide additional practical support, including daily contact with Resident Life Assistants and access to virtual activities and services, where needed.

We are also looking at how we can support questions from our students' families and supporters, and we will provide further information on that shortly.

Students: If you would like to access support, the university's support services are available for you to use. The details of the Student Wellbeing Service and the Students' Union Advice Service can be found on our website.

Staff: If you would like to access support, the university's Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) is available for you to use.

We are committed to help beat Covid-19

Our university is committed to playing our part in the national effort to tackle this virus. This mobile testing unit is one of the ways we are doing this.  We have also recently opened a Coronavirus local testing site, in conjunction with Medway council on our Medway campus and one is planned for the Avery Hill campus.

If you are concerned about your vulnerability to Covid-19 we encourage you to complete the Covid-vulnerability questionnaire and discuss any concerns with your faculty team (students) or line manager (staff).  You can find the questionnaires:
