Managers can make a referral to our Occupational Health service using an on-line tool.  Staff can access a wide range of information from our Employee Assistance Provider, including counselling services.

Occupational Health

With effect from 1 November 2018 the university's occupational health service for staff will be delivered by Duradiamond Health.  Referrals are made by the employee's line manager using an on-line referral system.  Further information is given below.

The Duradiamond Health Portal includes a video clip on making a good referral, and for staff a video about their referral, as well as a library of material about common conditions.

Sickness Absence

The University's policy and procedure for managing staff sickness absence can be found in the Managing Attendance and Wellbeing Policy.

Managers who wish to discuss:

  • concerns about a member of staff's sickness absence
  • an occupational health referral
  • reasonable adjustments for disability  

should contact the HR Manager for their area.

Due to the Covid-19 situation, CiC have advised that if your request is not of an urgent nature, please contact them at and include the following information:-

  • Name
  • Organisation
  • Contact phone number
  • The best time to receive a return call (preferably with a 2 hour window)
  • A brief sentence on the reason for getting in touch
