The UK government recently announced the launch of the new Graduate Immigration Route which will allow international graduates to stay in the UK for up to 2 years after completing their studies, or up to 3 years for those graduating with a doctorate degree.
During this time, you will be able to live and work full-time in the UK. This is a great opportunity to search for graduate employment in the UK, and if you are able to secure sponsorship from an employer, you can switch to a Skilled Worker visa.
The Graduate Immigration Route will open for applications on 1 July 2020. You will be eligible to apply if you have successfully completed your studies and have a valid Student (or Tier 4) visa on or after this date.
Applications can only be made from within the UK. If you have been studying overseas due to Covid-19, then there are some deadlines by which you must enter the UK, please refer to our guidance on this for more information.
