Chloe Arnold, Talent Acquisition Partner at Daniel Owen
Tell us about your career journey
I started my career at 18 years old at Daniel Owen and I was a young woman stepping into a corporate world that wasn’t built with me in mind. I worked relentlessly to progress. I never wanted to stop learning. I was hungry to understand recruitment inside and out. I’d look around the room at the managers leading the business and tell myself, “one day that will be me”, as long as I put the work in. I knew the opportunity was there for the taking.
Twelve years later, I’m still in the industry, in the same business. I’ve earned eight promotions, built a track record full of success stories, and developed strong relationships across the market. Today, I’m recognised as one of the most well-known Talent Acquisition Managers nationwide in our field and among our competitors.”
What are your top tips for aspiring young professionals?
- Keep moving through, even when it feels hard
- Treat everyone with respect
- Set goals and then work backwards
- Be positive

Tell us about your career journey
I began my career as a secretary, undertaking diverse roles including positions with a US Tax Specialist and the Head of Government Procurement at a leading international consultancy. An inspiring colleague encouraged me to transition into Human Resources, where I progressed through various roles, ultimately leading my own team. I earned my CIPD qualification at the University of Greenwich.
After my son grew up, I sought new challenges and joined the Ministry of Justice within the Civil Service. My career development continued as I advanced through positions such as HR Business Partner, HR Area Contract Manager, HR Business Change Manager, and now Business Change Manager and Project Manager.
Who inspires you the most?
Apart from the many remarkable women who have tirelessly championed the advancement of women’s rights, I have had the privilege of working with two exceptionally inspirational women during my career.
Angela Leask, formerly the Head of HR at a private consultancy, played a pivotal role in introducing me to the field of Human Resources and shaping my early professional development.
In addition, I have had the pleasure of working alongside Tanya Papchuck, Divisional Director - HR AI & Synergy Functional Transformation, for over a decade at the Ministry of Justice. Tanya is a fearless, highly knowledgeable leader who has consistently supported me throughout every stage of my Civil Service career.
