Keeping our documents accessible for everyone

By creating content that’s inclusive by design, you’re helping to make sure everyone can access the information they need.

Over the past few years, we’ve reviewed hundreds of documents on our website to make sure they’re accessible to everyone who needs them. This work has already made a big difference, and we’re really grateful to colleagues across the university who have supported this.

We’ve made some great progress but there’s still more we can do.

One of the easiest ways to keep improving is to build accessibility in from the very start. When we create documents that are inclusive by design, we save time later, reduce barriers, and help everyone in our community access information in the way that works for them.

Use our guidance to help you create accessible documents

If you’re creating or updating documents, please take a moment to check our Creating Accessible Documents  guidance. It covers things like headings, layout, colours, alt text, and exporting to PDF. The Creating Inclusive Content Hub reminds us why all content that we produce must be inclusive and accessible.

These tips and guides are there to make your work easier and to help us keep building an inclusive digital environment for everyone at Greenwich.
