Two former University of Greenwich students were included in this years New Year Honours list.
Ian Livingstone CBE studied at Garnett College in the 1970s, which became part of the University of Greenwich later, and went on to found Games Workshop in 1980 before launching several gaming icons such as Tomb Raider and Dungeons and Dragons. He was later awarded an honorary degree from the University of Greenwich in 2014. He will become Sir Ian Livingstone for his services to video games.
Angela Barry trained at Avery Hill College and received a Bachelor’s of Education in 1985. She is now a National Leader of Education, one of the government’s team of headteachers who support schools in challenging circumstances. Angela will be appointed an OBE for her services to education.
Both join a long list of former Greenwich students who have been recognised for their achievements including Sir Charles Kao, Sir William McAlpine and many others.
