LASE University Group staff engagement sessions have begun - more in May, June, July

staff stood together talking in a large room, there is a presentation on the screen and staff look happy as they are chattingOn 1 May, staff engagement events kicked off for the Universities of Greenwich and Kent, with colleagues coming together at Medway for an energising and collaborative morning ahead of the planned merger. Around 100 professional services and academic staff attended, sharing expertise and deepening their understanding of the work supporting students academically and research and knowledge exchange across both institutions.

Led by senior leaders - including DVCs and Provosts Professor Claire Peppiatt‑Wildman and Professor Vanessa Lemm, Professor Andrew Westby (DVC for Research) and Professor Heather Ferguson (PVC for Research) - the sessions featured themed presentations and showcases from science and engineering, alongside providing plenty of time for informal networking. The atmosphere was positive and forward‑looking, with colleagues welcoming the opportunity to make new connections and explore future collaborations and ideas for LASE University Group.

Feedback from attendees described the morning as useful, insightful, and a supportive way to consider challenges together and build relationships, with many keen to follow up on contacts made.
