Studiosity: proven to boost student success

Do you know how impactful Studiosity can be in helping students succeed, and in supporting our efforts to close the BAME awarding gap?

Studiosity gives free, instant feedback on writing

  • Students get 100 free submissions per academic year.
  • It’s a 24/7 online service.
  • They’ll receive fast, free feedback and helpful suggestions on how to improve their writing, including critical thinking.
  • Feedback is AI generated, quality assured by humans, and won’t affect their Turnitin scores. Unlike free AI tools, Studiosity keeps work safe and private.

Our research study showed improved grades and reduced awarding gaps

Studiosity is a proven tool that supports academic success, particularly for students from underrepresented or disadvantaged backgrounds.

A recent study at the University of Greenwich has shown that students who used Studiosity had significantly higher continuation and progression rates than those who didn’t. The data is compelling. At a glance:

  • First year students: 97% progression rate, vs. 72% for non-users.
  • Second year students: 98% progression rate, vs. 79% for non-users.
  • BAME students : 96–97%progression rate, vs. 68–78% for non-users.
  • Early use of Studiosity improves first-attempt pass rates.
  • Studiosity users score higher overall.

While we acknowledge the limitations of the study (no control group and voluntary usage), the trends are clear: Studiosity is a powerful tool for improving student outcomes and reducing awarding gaps.

Four ways to help your students benefit from Studiosity

  1. Recommend Studiosity

Let your students know it’s free, available 24/7, and proven to improve academic performance. Your endorsement can make a big difference.

  1. Invite us into your classroom

An Academic Skills Tutor can give a short, engaging talk on how to use Studiosity effectively. Contact us for more information.

  2. Direct students to our Studiosity pop-ups

We’re running drop-in sessions at all three campuses. Students can bring a draft assignment and their laptop, and we’ll show them how to get started.

  1. Embed Studiosity into your assessment timeline

Contact Sharon Perera about the Write With Confidence project, which aims to embed Studiosity early in assessment timelines. Doing so is proven to improve grades and enhance outcomes through increased engagement, especially for BAME students.

Let’s work together to ensure more students know about Studiosity, use it, and benefit from it.
