University of Greenwich graduate's documentary screened worldwide

MA Film graduate, Anushree Shukla's documentary ‘Mustafa - True Story of a Tiger’ has been screened at several international film festivals

The documentary focuses on Mustafa, a man-eating Tiger in the jungles of Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh, India who was ordered to be killed. Mustafa - Tiger

The film argues habitat loss and increase in population density have forced animals like Mustafa to come out of the jungle and become a man-eaters and that these tigers are often framed for crimes they have never committed. It showcases a detailed description of what goes on in a rescue operation in India and how the forest department deals with the hurdles while attempting to save the animals and protecting the humans.

The film was screened at the International Animal Future Film Festival UK 2023, the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne Australia 2023, and the Lift-Off Filmmaker’s sessions by Lift-Off Global Network UK 2023. It was also selected for inter Ecological TV Festival to Save Preserve, Russia 2023.

Anushree graduated in 2023, she studied MA in Film Production in 2021-22.
