The Turing University Network offers UK universities with an interest in data science and artificial intelligence (AI) the opportunity to engage and collaborate with the Institute and its wider networks in academia, industry and the public sector.
The pilot of the Turing University Network launched initially in April 2023 with 36 universities, and Greenwich has now joined after an open call for new members was launched this summer.
Joining the network provides an excellent opportunity for the university to engage and collaborate on data science and AI activity across both academia and industry.
Dr Ana Paula Palacios, who led the application, will act as the University’s academic liaison with the Turing University Network.
The role is university-wide and the School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences is looking forward to facilitating wider collaboration through membership on the network.
Dr Palacios said:
"I am delighted that our university has been accepted as a Turing University Network member. This is clearly the consequence of our strengths in the field. Being part of such a vibrant research community will bring us opportunities to showcase our research, collaborate with the other institutions, and participate in cross-disciplinary projects.”
Dr Jean Innes, Chief Executive Officer of The Alan Turing Institute, said:
“We’re really pleased to welcome our new members to the network. We hope that they will benefit from being part of our data science and AI group and find opportunities for new, meaningful collaborations across the data science and AI landscape.”
