University of Greenwich publishes its 2030 sustainability goals

The Sustainability Strategic Action Plan sets out the university's priorities for a greener Greenwich.

Sustainability is crucial to individuals, to the university, and to the planet. That’s why the university's goal is to lead the way and deliver achieve sustainability excellence in everything it does.

On Tuesday 12 November, the University of Greenwich published it Sustainability Strategic Action Plan, which sets out its ambitions in this area.

By 2030 Greenwich will be known as one of the best universities for sustainability, with greener practices at the heart of teaching, research, partnerships and operations. It will deliver progress against the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals to create a more sustainable society.

The education will support students to graduate as productive, ethical citizens who are passionate about sustainability. The university's research will complement that education, solving some of the planet’s most pressing issues.

Delivering these ambitions takes a whole community. Everyone plays a part in delivering a more sustainable university, no matter where they work or study. Everyone needs to participate, to make better decisions and to foster the cultures that will support the planet to thrive.
