Greenwich has been named as a finalist in the following categories:
- Best Undergraduate Student Recruitment Campaign: UCAS Deadline Campaign (in collaboration with Net Natives)
- Best Widening Participation Initiative: STEM Attainment Raising Programme
- Innovative Use of Technology: Conversational AI Search (in collaboration with Squiz)
Developed to respond to an increasingly competitive and value-driven recruitment landscape, the UCAS Deadline Campaign, delivered with our media partner Net Natives, targeted prospective undergraduates and their influencers with a clear, student-focused approach. Combining relatable, transparent content with data-led targeting, it highlighted affordability and real student experiences to help applicants make informed decisions ahead of the January UCAS deadline.
The STEM Attainment Raising Programme supports young people from underrepresented backgrounds to build confidence, skills and awareness in science, technology, engineering and maths. Working with schools and partners, the programme combines hands-on learning, academic collaboration and campus experiences to help students see STEM as relevant, accessible and achievable.
Our Innovative Use of Technology nomination recognises our work with CMS partner Squiz, to introduce Conversational AI Search. As the first UK university to implement this approach, the tool allows prospective students to ask questions in natural language and receive clear, accurate answers. This helps students navigate key information, particularly during high-pressure periods such as Clearing, while improving accessibility and insight into student needs.
The HEIST Awards celebrate best practice and innovation in education marketing, communications and engagement across the sector, highlighting work that delivers real impact for learners and institutions.
This achievement reflects the collective efforts of colleagues across the Marketing and External Relations (MER) directorate and our faculties. It highlights the strength of our collaborative approach, both internally and with our partners, in delivering meaningful impact for our students and communities.
Winners will be announced at an awards evening on Thursday 9 July.
