HESA, the Higher Education Statistics Agency, is the designated data body for higher education in the UK. We provide an annual report to HESA to help give them accurate snapshot of the university, who we are, what we do, and how well we do it.
Upload your teaching qualification to Horizon to help us report accurately
Please review your Academic Teaching Qualifications in Horizon to make sure they are up to date so we can record and celebrate your achievement.
These are the categories that you can record in Horizon:
- Successfully completed an institutional provision in teaching in the higher education sector accredited against the Professional Standards Framework
- Holder of a PGCE in higher education, secondary education, further education, lifelong learning or any other equivalent UK qualification
- Accredited as a teacher of their subject by a professional UK body
- Other UK accreditation or qualification in teaching in the higher education sector
- Overseas accreditation or qualification for any level of teaching
- Recognised by Advance HE as an Associate Fellow against Descriptor 1 of the PSF
- Recognised by Advance HE as a Fellow against Descriptor 2 of the PSF
- Recognised by Advance HE as a Senior Fellow against Descriptor 3 of the PSF
- Recognised by Advance HE as a Principal Fellow against Descriptor 4 of the PSF
- Holder of a National Teaching Fellowship Scheme Individual Award with Advance HE
- Recognised by SEDA against Descriptor 1 of the UKPSF
- Recognised by SEDA against Descriptor 2 of the UKPSF
You are only required to put the highest level of an award you have received. For example, if you have been awarded Fellow and Senior Fellow from Advance HE, you are only expected to put you are recognised as a Senior Fellow.
Go to Career and Performance on Horizon to record your achievement
- Go to the Skills & Qualifications section on Horizon.
- Scroll down to Academic Teaching Qualifications.
- Click the “+ add” button.
- Under “Degree”, select Academic Teaching Qualifications, and under “Academic Teaching Qualification 1” choose the relevant selection. Repeat this under other sections if you have multiple qualifications.
- Under attachments, upload evidence of your qualifications. For example, any certificates you have received for the qualification.
- Click save.
