Hadlow College prides itself on an 80-year history of delivering educational excellence.

Hadlow College is a specialist land-based college set in the heart of the Kent countryside amid 265 acres of prime arable land, woodland, lakes and other natural habitats. Graded 'outstanding' by Ofsted, and given full confidence by the Quality Assurance Agency for higher education, we are dedicated to making all our students feel welcome and secure in what is a fantastic learning environment.

Where are we based?

You'll find us in Kent, with our main site and administrative headquarters at Hadlow, a beautiful village in the heart of the Kent countryside, near Tonbridge. On-campus we have residential accommodation, as well as further en-suite accommodation a short distance from the main site.

Our Facilities

Our main campus includes a fully-functioning commercial farm, which is home to the College flock, lambing sheds and 150 acres of paddocks for our llamas, pigs, goats, chickens and ducks. Situated alongside the farm, our state-of-the-art Animal Management Unit houses over 200 species, a 120-seat lecture theatre, examination rooms and a commercial dog-grooming salon.

Other facilities include a dairy, which is home to our award-winning herd of 120 cows, and our Grove Farm complex, run as a commercial fishery, with a fully-stocked fish hatchery and restored fishing lake, providing students with practical aquatic management experience.

With a 1.3 hectare glasshouse complex, orchards, modern garden design studio, 10 acres of landscaped gardens built and maintained by staff and students, and commercial enterprises such as a garden centre, tea room and farm shop selling produce grown on site, the College's excellent facilities enable us to provide students with genuine commercial experience.

In addition, our higher education students benefit from dedicated 'university hubs' for their exclusive use. These can be used for quiet study, for socialising with friends or discussing tutorial topics with classmates.

What courses do we offer?

We offer a huge range of courses, including foundation degrees, HNDs and honours degrees. All of our higher education programmes are delivered in partnership with the University of Greenwich, with our students benefiting from the smaller class sizes and more personal support that we offer, whilst also gaining a degree qualification from a highly respected and recognized institution.

Our undergraduate degree and HND programmes include International Agriculture, Animal Conservation and Biodiversity, Applied Animal Behavioural Science and Welfare, Aquaculture and Fisheries Management, Equine Training and Management, Equine Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation, Garden Design, Commercial Horticulture, Floristry and Teacher Training qualifications.

How many students do we have?

We have just over 600 Higher Education Students studying up to Level 6. The successes of these students mean that, last year, 89.7% achieved their qualification, 90% progressed into work or further study and 87% were satisfied with the quality of their course.

Recent successes

It's wonderful when we see our students achieve great things; we celebrate all their achievements and are proud of our role in supporting them into their future careers. Our students have recently won several major prizes in prestigious national events suchas the Hampton Court Flower Show, Toro Young Student Greenkeeper of the Year Awards and the British Florist Association Industry Awards, as well as regional student prizes from the Worshipful Company of Fruiterers and the South of England Agricultural Society Autumn Show.

This year, members of our alumni have been successful at the Chelsea Flower Show - winning a gold medal and Best Show Garden – and have been the recipients of a prestigious international award for wildlife conservation.

We work hard to give our students' careers the best possible start and are dedicated to ensuring that they prosper, as evidenced by success rates maintained at around 90%. We're passionate about the land-based sector and our focus remains on delivering an exceptional student experience.
