Benefit from a rural university experience at Hadlow College

Benefit from an 80-year history of educational excellence at University Centre Hadlow.

The University Centre Hadlow is a dedicated part of Hadlow College focused on offering university students a unique and welcoming experience.

The College is set in the heart of the Kent countryside near Tonbridge amid 265 acres of prime arable land, woodland, lakes and other natural habitats. We have residential accommodation on-campus with further en-suite accommodation a short distance away.

Our Facilities

Our main campus includes a fully-functioning commercial farm, which is home to the College flock, lambing sheds and 150 acres of paddocks for our llamas, pigs, goats, chickens and ducks.

Situated alongside the farm, our state-of-the-art Animal Management Unit houses over 200 species, a 120-seat lecture theatre, examination rooms and a commercial dog-grooming salon.

Other facilities include a dairy, which is home to our award-winning herd of 120 cows, and our Grove Farm complex, run as a commercial fishery, with a fully-stocked fish hatchery and restored fishing lake, providing students with practical aquatic management experience.

With orchards, 10 acres of landscaped gardens maintained by staff and students, and commercial enterprises such as a garden centre, tea room and farm shop selling produce grown on-site, the College's excellent facilities provide students with genuine commercial experience.

University Centre students also benefit from dedicated 'university hubs' for their exclusive use. These can be used for quiet study, for socialising with friends or discussing tutorial topics with classmates.

What can I study?

We offer a huge range of courses, including foundation degrees, HNDs and honours degrees.

All of our higher education programmes are delivered in partnership with the University of Greenwich. Our students benefit from small class sizes and one-to-one contact time with tutors whilst gaining a degree from a highly respected and recognised institution.

Our undergraduate degree and HND programmes include International Agriculture, Animal Conservation and Biodiversity, Applied Animal Behavioural Science and Welfare, Zoo Husbandry and Management, Aquaculture and Fisheries Management, Equine Training and Management, Equine Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation and Commercial Horticulture.

How many students do we have?

We have just over 600 University Centre students studying up to Level 6.

Recent successes

It's wonderful when we see our students achieve great things. We celebrate all their achievements and are proud of our role in supporting them into future careers.

Past students have recently won several major prizes in prestigious national events such as the Hampton Court Flower Show, Fresh Produce Journal Fruit & Veg Awards, the British Florist Association Industry Awards and the British Grooms Association, as well as regional student prizes from the Worshipful Company of Fruiterers and the South of England Agricultural Society Autumn Show.

We work hard to give our students the best possible start in their careers and to ensure that they prosper. We're passionate about the land-based sector and our focus remains on delivering an exceptional student experience.
