Scholarships and Bursaries

Our awards are available to help you with the cost of your studies. They range from sports and skills-based scholarships to bursaries for students in financial need.

Help with your studies

We are committed to supporting students from all backgrounds, including those with low household income.

We'll automatically award £700 to eligible new undergraduate students to help with study costs.

Help with your travel costs

Our commuter bursaries support new students from low-income households who face challenging travel costs to attend university. The bursaries are worth up to £1,000 per academic year and can be redeemed for:

  • Public transport
  • Bicycles and safety equipment
  • Petrol costs, if a car is necessary.

EU Bursary

Following the UK's departure from the European Union, we are supporting new EU students by offering a substantial fee-reduction for the first year of study in 2021/22.

Elite sportspeople

If you're a sportsperson at county level or higher, you can apply for a scholarship named after our Olympic gold medal-winning alumna, Ann Packer.

It's worth a total of £4,000 per year as long as you continue to perform at a high sporting level throughout your degree.

Promoting study skills

If you participate in our GREat Skills programme before you join us, you could be eligible for a scholarship worth £2,000.
