The Greenwich Bursary

The Greenwich Bursary is worth £700 for new undergraduate students with a low household income.

We are committed to supporting students from a variety of backgrounds. As part of this commitment, the Greenwich Bursary offers £700 to new undergraduate students entering Year 0 or 1 who meet the eligibility criteria.

Am I eligible?

You will need to meet the following criteria to receive the bursary.

  • You are a fully-registered undergraduate student at the University of Greenwich.
  • You'll be studying a BA, BEd, BSc, LLB, BEng, MEng or MMath course.
  • You'll be studying at Greenwich, Avery Hill or Medway Campus (except Medway School of Pharmacy) or one of our Partner Colleges where your tuition fee is paid directly to us.
  • You are assessed to pay fees at the home rate at over £6,165 per year.
  • You have been assessed by Student Finance England and have given consent for it to share your information with the University of Greenwich.
  • Your household income is below £25,000.

How to apply

You do not need to apply for the Greenwich Bursary.

This bursary is assessed and awarded automatically by the Student Fees and Funding Team.

Conditions

  • You are only eligible for one bursary or scholarship from the University of Greenwich. You will be awarded the highest-value award that you are eligible for.
  • Part-time students must be taking at least 60 credits in their first year (Year 0 or 1). You receive a single payment of £350 in your first year. To receive a second payment, you must remain registered and in attendance on your course.
  • The bursary is only alliable to new entry students (year 0 or 1) and is not awarded in subsequent academic years.
