International Scholarship Award

International students who hold an offer to study at the University of Greenwich are guaranteed a minimum award of £2,500 for both undergraduates and postgraduates applicants, subject to meeting the June Award Window requirements and deadlines below. Awards for these amounts are via a tuition fee discount, and will be awarded between the minimum amount up to a value of £3,000.

The International Scholarship Award is a single year tuition fee discount up to £3,000 available to both undergraduate and postgraduate international students who hold an offer to study at the University of Greenwich for September 2026.

The International Scholarship Award runs in monthly intervals and recognises students making early, organised plans in preparation for their studies.

June Awards Window – Guaranteed Scholarship

All eligible applicants for the June Award Window of the International Scholarship Award will be automatically awarded a minimum of £2,500 for all undergraduate and postgraduate applicants providing you meet the deposit deadlines for your Award Window. For both undergraduate and postgraduate applicants, a maximum award of £3,000 is available. All awards issued after 26th June will not have a guaranteed minimum award. Additional dates may be published in due course.

Award value and eligibility criteria

This award recognises students making early, organised plans in preparation for their studies. Applicants who apply for the scholarship before 26th June are rewarded with a guaranteed minimum award of £2,500 if you meet the associated deposit deadline laid out below. The deadlines for applications are as follows:

  • The quality of your written statement detailing your motivations to study at the University of Greenwich. Written statements that clearly demonstrate use of AI or poor written quality will not be qualify for an award
  • Your individual academic background
  • Your English language ability, both in terms of English language qualification and the written quality of your written statement

Terms and conditions

  • This award is for new full time, UK based on campus undergraduate or postgraduate taught students at University of Greenwich for the September 2026 intake only. Students on partner courses, including UGIC are not eligible. Students studying MRes, PhD, MPhil, Cert HE, PGCE, or any Greenwich Online courses are not eligible
  • The International Scholarship Award is non-deferrable and cannot be transferred to a later intake, including but not limited to January 2027 or future intakes
  • You must have been assessed as an overseas fee paying student during the admissions process
  • You must be not already be registered at either the University of Greenwich or the University of Greenwich International College (UGIC)
  • Any current University of Greenwich students who are progressing from undergraduate to postgraduate study will be eligible for the Alumni bursary. – link to webpage
  • The scholarship is applied as a tuition fee discount only
  • This scholarship cannot be combined with any other scholarship award or bursary from the University of Greenwich
  • Scholarship is applied after registration (not deducted from the deposit)
  • The award cannot be applied retroactively and will be withdrawn if you have already commenced your studies
  • Upon receiving confirmation of your scholarship for the May Award, applicants are required to pay their tuition fee deposit via Flywire only and must have cleared into the University’s bank account by the relevant deposit payment deadline.(or accept their offer if a sponsored student) before the 26th June. Deposit payments made outside of this platform are not eligible
  • If you have applied via UCAS you have until your relevant UCAS deadline to accept your offer
  • Students with Chinese nationality are not eligible for this award, however, are eligible for the China scholarship administered by our in-country partner.
  • EU national students are not eligible for this award, however, are eligible for the EU bursary.
  • Recipients of other scholarships or external funding awards need to check the terms and conditions of those awards to understand if they are eligible for support through this award
  • Recipients of the award may be asked to participate in university promotional activities, such as interviews and attendance at university events
  • You can only apply for this scholarship once per Award Window (i.e. once per month)
  • Due to the high volume of applications we receive, we are unable to provide detailed individual feedback
  • The decision of the panel is final
