Employability Service guidance for staff

The Employability Service at Greenwich exists to help every student and recent graduate build the skills, experiences, and networks needed to succeed in a competitive and global job market.

The Employability Service at Greenwich exists to help every student and recent graduate build the skills, experiences, and networks needed to succeed in a competitive and global job market. Guided by the university’s This is Our Time 2030 strategy, our vision is to deliver the most innovative and effective employability support in London, recognised nationally for impact and inclusivity. We provide comprehensive career education, one-to-one guidance, and access to opportunities ranging from placements and internships to in-house roles and external employer partnerships. Our team supports students in developing professional skills, connects them with mentors, and offers resources, events, and tailored advice to increase their career readiness.

In the summer of 2025, we worked with external consultant Kate Daubney to design an Employability audit. The audit is a supportive tool to enhance what already exists and help programme teams reflect on where employability could be made even more visible to students.

This is a great starting point for you to do a quick audit around seven themes that support a scaffolded and progressive embedding of employability skills:

Employability Team Partnering with faculties

In addition, we developed an Employability Toolkit on the Moodle Learning & Teaching Resource Centre (LTRC) NB1534-2024-24. The Employability Toolkit offers a comprehensive review of the University’s approach to embedding employability.

We are keen to work in partnership with programme teams, please drop us a line requesting a meeting with us, and we will make the time to meet with you and support you as best we can
