4th Mar 2021
This activity takes place online
To mark national University Mental Health Day we will be focusing on the theme Connecting our community with a programme of online events open to staff and students, across 3 and 4 March 2021.
In what has been one of our most challenging years, we celebrate the connectedness of our community at Greenwich and discuss how we can continue to support each other and our mental health through these times.
Vice Chancellor, Professor Jane Harrington, and Sir Norman Lamb, Chair South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, will commence the programme at 2pm on 3 March with a keynote session on how universities should develop support for mental health and wellbeing in a post-COVID world.
The 2-day agenda includes sessions covering Men's Mental Health with Charlton Athletic FC, and Lifestyle and Wellbeing - including nutrition, mindfulness, and healthy cooking on a budget; as well as hearing from the Student Wellbeing team and Greenwich Students' Union about students' mental health.
We will be discussing mental health from the perspective of the LGBT+ Community and Disability Staff Network, and the Women's Network through a 'Menopause Cafe', showcasing research from the Institute of Lifecourse Development, and sharing tips for good mental health through physical activity and yoga.
The sessions have been designed to help you to understand mental health better and how you can make the most of the support that is available around the university. You can join the sessions on 3 and 4 March and view our on-demand content and resources in your own time.
