Greenwich experts recognised in New Year's Honours

Two senior leads from the University of Greenwich, Professor Karen Bryan, University of Greenwich's Deputy Vice Chancellor and Steve Howlett, Hon Pro-Chancellor have been recognised in the New Year's Honours Lists.

University of Greenwich's Vice-Chancellor, David Maguire congratulated them both, "We are very proud of the recognition in the New Year's Honours for both Karen and Steve for their respective services to higher education and housing. It is an honour for the University to be associated with such great expertise."

University of Greenwich's Deputy Vice Chancellor, Professor Karen Bryan who receives an OBE said, "I am deeply grateful and humbled to receive this award. I believe passionately in the opportunities that universities provide to educate students and to create new knowledge for the good of society. I would like to thank everyone that I have worked with in so many different ways. I hope that all of my colleagues will take some credit for this award."

Steve Howlett, Hon Pro-Chancellor has been awarded a CBE. "I am hugely honoured to have received this award which I owe first and foremost to my family. I am also indebted to the unique Peabody Trust and the amazing colleagues, board members and partners who have helped and supported me through my career.

"I'm sure that they will carry on energetically and enthusiastically working to provide the good quality homes that people so badly need."
